The rambling forms of this home are unified by a long and inviting
porch.
Inside, a two-story center hall opens on the left and right to formal
living and dining rooms. To the rear, the kitchen, breakfast nook, and
family room form an open, flowing space that extends the width of the
house. A fireplace sits against the far wall of the family room, and
French doors open onto a deck overlooking the rear lawn. A laundry area
sits off a short hall between the garage and the kitchen and provides
convenient access from the garage.
A main staircase with an open balustrade leads up to the second-floor
hall which overlooks the entrance below. At one side of the house, the
master bedroom features a large walk-in closet and a master bath with
an oversize tub, dual sinks, a glass shower, and a dormer window overlooking
the front lawn. On the other side, the hall leads past a bathroom to
two bedrooms – each with its own large closet – and a final
bedroom with a private bath under the eaves of the garage.
The classic1-1/2 story Cape form conveys a timeless charm, and the
Dennis has a compact footprint that is easy to build and maintain. Plans
for this house have been carefully drawn and include authentic details.
The layout combines a smooth flow and an efficient use of space. All
of the rooms have large windows and will accommodate optimal furniture
arrangements.
You can order the stock house plan or configure it to meet your personal
specifications with the Original Home Plan Tool.
The Plan Tool offers many options, such as a bonus room or an additional
bedroom above the garage. The house can expand from 2 to 2½ baths
and from 3 to 4 bedrooms. Other interior options include additional
closets, a choice of kitchen layouts, a cathedral ceiling in the master
bedroom, a private master bath WC, and a laundry room on the first or
second floor.
You can also raise the first-floor ceiling to 9 feet, choose between
a 2- or 3-car garage, and place the garage doors in the front or side
of the house. On the exterior, change the siding to clapboard, stucco,
shingles, or brick. Choose from several front porch and dormer options
to create your own original design.
