The traditional Cape Cod home has been enhanced in this design by flanking
wings.
Inside the front door, a wide staircase with open balustrades divides
the formal dining room on the right from the great room to the left.
The large great room, with a fireplace and built-in cabinets on its
longest wall, is open to the breakfast area and kitchen, creating a
flowing space that extends the width of the central wing. French doors
open to the deck and rear lawn. The attached mudroom wing with a laundry
area and powder room and offers a convenient rear entrance into the
kitchen. The master bedroom, a large walk-in closet, and the master
bath are secluded in their own wing. The master bath features dual sinks,
a glass shower, and an oversize tub.
The main staircase leads up to a second-floor which overlooks the entry
below. A hall bathroom separates two bedrooms, each with its own large
closet and dormer windows facing to the front and rear.
The classic1-1/2 story Cape form conveys a timeless charm and, and
the Melrose offers the convenience of a second entrance through an expanded
mudroom. Plans for this house have been carefully drawn and include
authentic details. The layout combines a smooth flow and an efficient
use of space. All of the rooms have large windows and will accommodate
optimal furniture arrangements.
